I’ve been on the hunt for an alternative to wearing jeans everyday, and these high waisted cords are the answer.
Corduroy has been everywhere throughout autumn and winter, but I’ve not really bought into it. It’s not until I saw these navy wonders in & Other Stories that I thought they were a trend I could get on board with. In the most wearable navy, wide leg, ankle grazing fit, these cords are far from geography teacher territory. I’ve been reaching for these far more than my usual jeans lately, and paired with simple white trainers and a white tee, it’s a very easy casual lewk.
This super high waist style is having moment, and I must say I’m loving how it elongates my 5 ft 4 frame. The D ring belt gives them a 60’s/70’s vibe which I will probably play up on by wearing with high platform heels like these.
Although cord is not a particularly summery fabric, we don’t get a particularly summery summer here in Manchester, so I’m quite confident I’ll get a lot of wear out of these over the coming months. I plan to wear them with flat sandals (I’m loving these YSL dupes) and camis, or Chloe-esque broderie anglaise shirts.
Other corduroy pieces I have my eye on include these oversized western jackets in sandy, earthy tones. They’re about to explode all over Instagram with Coachella happening imminently, along with cowboy boots and Reformation dresses. I’m also really into these, these, this and these for summer getaways.
