I have found a perfect little paradise that you must visit some day.
It’s on the popular Cambodian island Koh Rong, but it’s a million miles away from being a busy party beach. Take the boat to Coconut Beach, and you’ll find yourself landed in the most delicious of white sandy cove beaches, lined with coconut trees and surrounded by tropical jungle.
Although it’s a tiny little cove, there are a few options for places to stay. We chose a treehouse cabin at Coconut Bungalows which was just perfect for us.
We spent our mornings lazing on our porch, drinking coffee and feasting on fluffy banana pancakes and tropical fruit plates.
Our afternoons were spent alternating between snoozing on the beach, and snoozing in our hammock. I was so relaxed, I didn’t ever manage to read a full page of my book before my eyes started closing.
On our last day, we ventured out on a boat trip. We snorkelled, caught fish for a BBQ and drank rum as the full moon shone bright orange and the sky turned every shade of purple.
At night, we swam with Plankton and released floating lanterns over the sea to a soundtrack of Celine Dion and Whitney (cheesy but fun).
There really isn’t anything else to say as it’s a simple beach. It’s somewhere I envision taking my children someday for a quiet, relaxing family holiday (if I’m lucky). I don’t think these pictures do it justice, but it’s our favourite beach from our whole trip so far. A very tranquil place I’ll always remember.
