As I’m writing this, I’ve just arrived back from the first of many trips this summer. A few weeks ago, House of Fraser asked me to road test the Biba Opulence Large Suitcase and it couldn’t have come at a more apt time. I’m very lucky to be going on quite a few trips over the next few months, and a battered ten year old case was doing nothing for me. I’m yet to take it over-seas but can safely say the Biba Opulence is the most obliging and handsome suitcase I’ve come across.
‘The Biba’ is a large but slim-line case with discreet pale gold hardware and four wheels- it glides like a hot knife through butter. I can’t wait to feel a little bit smug at the luggage carousel in a few weeks time when it gets it’s next outing. The discreet jacquard pattern on the hard-wearing fabric makes it easily identifiable without being garish and hopefully speaks the end of picking up someone else’s case to disgruntled looks.
It is really pretty, but the best bit in my opinion is the separate compartments inside. I’m a meticulous packer and thankfully ‘The Biba’ has large pockets for all of my holiday essentials (I’m weird about my shoes touching my clothes), and a very sturdy internal strap to stop any somersaulting en route. The Travel Sentry Approved lock fixed to the side, is a clever extra feature which gives me peace of mind. It means that airport security can open and inspect it if necessary, without damaging the case. Also, no more flimsy padlocks and missing keys…
Have you got any trips planned for this summer?
Huge thanks to House of Fraser for sending me this beautiful suitcase to review.
